Myths from my country of origin, the Philippines, influence my recent art. The serpent Bacunawa, who causes lunar eclipses, and the bird, Agila, who caused the appearance of land, have given me themes, symbols, and narratives to imagine and undertake a journey into pre-colonial cultural memory.
